Bundt cake recipe & prep steps:
6-12 hours before baking:
2 sticks of butter out on counter to soften
Pre-heat oven to 350.
5 eggs into a separate bowl
Keeping this separate helps confirm no eggshells get into the mix.
Add in: (Add the flour first, to help minimize the ‘dust cloud’ when mixing)
flour – 2 cups
sugar – 2 cups
vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
soft butter – 2 sticks (Before adding…check to confirm it’s mushy soft. If not, microwave for 15-20 seconds)
Electric mixer & occasionally stirring the mix for 2-3 minutes.
Spray the bundt pan lightly with a non-stick baking spray.
Spatula / pour the mix into the bundt pan, and set a timer for 45 minutes.
Remove from oven after 45-55 minutes.
Immediately insert a spatula around the edges of cake to separate the edges of the cake from the bundt pan.
Put a piece of tin foil on the countertop, and bend up the back edge by 1-2″ to catch the crumbs when you drop the cake onto the foil.
Quickly repeat inserting the spatula around edges of cake to separate it from the bundt pan, and flip the cake
pan over onto the tin foil sheet.
The cake should fall right out.
After cooling for several hours, put a second piece of tin foil over the top of the cake to wrap it up.
